Frequently Asked Questions
Starting a pet photography session often comes with a few questions — and that’s completely normal.
After all, this isn’t a quick snapshot for your phone. It’s an investment in artwork that reflects your pet’s personality and becomes part of your home — something you’ll enjoy seeing every day, and not just scroll past.
I’ve answered some of the most common questions below. If you’d prefer to talk things through, I’m always happy to chat by phone or message.
Planning Appointment

During the pre-session planning appointment, we'll discuss your goals for the photoshoot and any specific factors to consider. If you're unsure about your goals, don't worry! We'll use a detailed questionnaire to help clarify what's best for you and your pet. We'll talk about your pet's character, your desired images, and choose the perfect location and photo styling. We'll also discuss your preferences for printed artwork to ensure the final images fit your vision. Lastly, we'll go over some preparation tips for the days leading up to the session. By the end, you'll feel confident and excited about your photo session plan.
I’m based on the Brisbane northside and photograph pets throughout Brisbane, particularly the northside and north-west. Sessions are available up to around 20km south of the CBD.
I also travel to Caboolture and Bribie Island, as well as the Sunshine Coast by arrangement, with a small travel fee.
Photo shoots are held in various beautiful locations such as parks, forests, beaches, and the countryside. We will discuss your preferences and choose the best setting together. If your pet is more comfortable at home, we can certainly do the session inside your home or in your garden.
Studio sessions are offered in a private, appointment-only studio setting, designed to be calm and fuss-free for dogs. Session details are confirmed individually once your booking is underway.
There's absolutely no problem at all! The truth is, very few dogs are highly trained. We'll take all the time needed for your dog to explore the location and settle down. For safety's sake, we'll keep your dog on a lead during the session, and I'll remove the lead in the final images through digital processing. If your dog is too energetic to sit still, I'll capture their natural exuberance and personality in the photos.
Not at all! I love photographing ALL kinds of animals! Dogs are certainly very popular photography subjects, but I'm also a great cat photographer and understand them very well. I'm comfortable around all animals and welcome the opportunity to photograph any kind of pet.
Weather can be unpredictable. If it rains on the day of your session, we will reschedule to another convenient day at no extra cost.
Payment of the booking fee is required at the time of confirming your photo session. The booking fee is non refundable, however you may, if necessary, reschedule the photo session by giving at least 24 hours' prior notice. A rescheduling fee $35 may apply.
Payment for artwork is payable at the time of order placement. Once the order has been placed with the printers, it cannot be refunded.
Yes, of course you can! It's a wonderful opportunity to get a beautiful photo of your best buddy with the people he/she loves so much.
However, for those who are camera shy, we can still include a photo that shows the connection you have with your pet in a more abstract way, if you like.
The image proofs will be ready within 10 days of the photoshoot, and we will then arrange a time for your artwork ordering appointment. The order will then be placed with the printers, and the finished artwork is usually delivered within two weeks.
I understand how difficult it is when a beloved pet is unwell. I will prioritize your session to ensure we capture these precious moments. We can arrange the session at the most comfortable location for your pet, whether it's at home or another familiar place.
This is much more than a few snaps like the ones you often take with your phone - the photos that lack something special and end up buried at the bottom of an endless scroll. A professional pet photography session is an experience and an investment in a pet who really means more to you than simple words can say. It will give you truly special photographs that show how your pet really is, and you'll have high quality artwork pieces that will last a lifetime. Consider not having any of that when time has passed, as so often happens with the short time we have with our pets, and you'll likely find the answer within your own heart.
