This is me, Ronnie!

Meet the person behind the camera

Hi, I'm Veronica, though many clients know me as Ronnie. I'm a Brisbane-based photographer creating portraits of children and the animals people share their lives with, shaped by years spent working with children, a lifelong connection to animals, and a belief that the photographs we value most are usually the ones that reveal the little details that we notice most in real life.

Before photography became my profession, I spent several years teaching children in Spain, from tiny Grade Ones to proud Grade Sixers preparing for high school. I loved their honesty, imagination and enthusiasm; the way they move, speak and express themselves before they become self-conscious about the world watching them. That experience continues to shape how I approach childhood portraiture today.

Children don't need to perform for me. Some arrive bursting with energy, while others take a little time to warm up. My role is simply to create an environment where they feel comfortable enough to be themselves and let their real personality shine. This is what I strive to achieve in every photo session, and it is the foundation of my Signature style of childhood portraits.

Growing up, I was equally surrounded by animals. Dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cows, a pig named Perfect, and more than a few rescued magpies called Percy all played a part in my childhood. Horses were a significant part of my early life, and I spent years riding through Pony Club, shows and gymkhanas. That background taught me to pay close attention to behaviour, body language and individual personalities; skills that continue to inform my work with animals today.

Outside photography, I'm also involved in animal rescue. At the moment, I'm fostering two cats as they prepare for adoption, and I volunteer my photography services for fundraising initiatives such as Santa Paws sessions with the rescue group I foster with. Those experiences continually reinforce the value of patience, observation and working at an individual's pace.

Clients often describe me as calm, organised and easy to work with. From first contact through to finished artwork, my aim is to make the entire experience feel enjoyable and well supported. I believe experience brings perspective, patience and reliability, qualities that help create a photography experience that feels reassuring and enjoyable for both parents and children.

Whether you're looking for beautifully simple childhood portraits, expressive pet photography, or artwork that celebrates someone important in your life, my goal is always the same: to create photographs that you love, and that remain meaningful for years to come.

Patience
